Tender Touch™ is a lightweight, permanent stabilizer that is ideal to "cover-the-back" of finished computerized embroideries to protect sensitive skin from scratchy stitches. It can also be used as a preparation for all delicate fabrics like silk, satin, lame', batiste, open weave wovens, and lightweight cottons to help prevent shredding or distortion due to heavy needle penetrations when embroidering.

Tender Touch protects the fabric by giving it the needed support while embroidering, without changing the hand or drape of the fabric. It is ideal for baby and child garments, sports apparel, lingerie, spandex and golf shirts because it stretches with the garment.

Another layer of Tender Touch can then be applied over the underside of the embroidery to protect sensitive skin from scratchy stitches.

Tender Touch is ideal as an iron-on lining in garment construction.

It dyes easily for antique looking stuffed animals and dolls. Needling keeps Warm & Natural from bunching, separating or bearding without resins or glue. Can be quilted up to 10" apart. 87.5% natural cotton / 12.5% Polypropylene.

Hobbs Heirloom® Wool is quickly becoming Hobbs most sought after batting, because of its soft and luxurious feel. Heirloom® Wool is a light weight, breathable batting that is great to cover up with. Wool generally breathes better than other fibers and acts as a natural insulator helping to maintain comfort in the summer and/or the winter. Hobbs wool batting is made with the finest washable wool in the world. It is resin bonded to provide added durability and resist bearding and migration. This wool is exceptionally easy to quilt by hand or machine and can be quilted up to 4" apart. Quilts made with this premium batting can be washed by machine (gentle cycle) or by hand. This batting has been endorsed and developed by Harriet Hargrave.

What is Resin Bonded?

Resin bonded batting is made made from a wide variety of fibers including polyester, cotton, wool, etc. A web is garnetted or carded then passed through a process that applies a resin to both sides. The web is dried and cured to form a bonded batting. This bonded batting resists bearding better than any other type of batting. There are many different types of fiber and resin combinations to give a desired “look” and “hand”. Combining processes, fibers and resins makes the resin bonded process the most versatile and most effective way to produce battings.
